Due to a strict annual quota of around 300 applicants, only a select number of individuals will be chosen. To qualify for residence under the Austria Private Residence Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Maintain a minimum of EUR 40,000 in liquid funds, with the amount increasing based on family size.
Provide proof of permanent residential real estate (either purchased or leased) for themselves and their dependents.
Have private healthcare insurance.
Demonstrate German language proficiency at A1 level.
Additionally, applicants must: Submit the required documentation to the Austrian consulate or embassy in their current country of residence.
Obtain a special visa from the Austrian embassy once the application is approved, enabling them to travel to Austria and collect their residence permit.
Austria Golden Visa Requirements
During the application process, applicants must personally submit the required documentation to the Austrian consular or diplomatic representation in their country of residence. Given the strict quota limits for certain residence permits, timing of the application submission is crucial. Once approved, applicants must collect a special visa at the Austrian embassy, which allows them to travel to Austria and obtain their residence permit from the relevant authority.
After the residence permit is issued, it must be collected in person from the issuing authority in Austria. Additionally, non-EU and non-EFTA citizens must sign an integration agreement if they will reside in Austria for more than 24 months. Residence and settlement permits are issued in card format and can be renewed annually.
