Colombian citizenship may be acquired in one of five methods: marriage, birth, naturalization, adoption, or descent. Descent: Those born to a Colombian parent, regardless of place of birth, are automatically given Colombian citizenship by descent. If the individual was not born in Colombia, they may register for citizenship at a consulate or by returning to Colombia. Austrian citizenship.
